GISconnector for Excel Version 3.0
New features and improvements:
- Handling of excluded columns during data transfer has been restructured. Columns/fields that are not managed by GISconnector are now strictly read-only, i.e. they are just read, and they won’t be changed or deleted.
- The Options Tab of the Edit connection Dialogue has been adapted to the Columns/fields changes.
- Design update of GISconnector
- Simplification of the task bar icons, all GISconnector windows are represented by the main application icon.
- Spanish user interface has been added.
Bug-fixes:
- After creating a new connection it will be now shown directly in the drop-down menu of the GISconnector toolbar, provided that the data source is open in ArcGIS or Excel. The GISconnector does not need to be restarted anymore.

GISconnector for Excel Version 2.1

- The user documentation(Help) has been completely revised.
- Entries in the protocol now contains more details for specific tasks.
- The About screen of GISconnector shows licence information about the licence in use.
- When providing an incorrect column name GISconnector now suggests a corrected version of the name.
- When using an Excel column with format ‘General’ a warning appears, as this format is not distinct and can’t be interpreted for sure. This helps preventing compatibility issues. This feature is optional and can be configured in the Settings.
- GISconnector is more tolerant when transferring number formatted columns/fields. Any combination of number formatted column and field will be accepted. This feature is optional and can be configured in the Settings.
- An analyse log can be created, which can be sent over to the support team in case of GISconnector problems.
- Hint messages have been added, in order to introduce functions of GISconnector for Excel.
Bug-fixes:
- Adding a column to a Shapefile or a dbf table inside an edit session no longer causes the application to crash. A message will be displayed instead.
- Transferring filtered data of a Feature-Class to Excel is working as expected again. In Version 2.0 all data of the feature class was transferred.
- A problem with the xlsm format has been fixed which prevented the GISconnector Add-In to activate correctly in Excel.
- An Excel cell being edited during export from ArcGIS to Excel is now recognized by the GISconnector and a message is displayed. The edited cell prevents the GISconnector from adding a new spreadsheet.
- If incompatible columns are recognized at the start of a data transfer but the user decides to continue anyway, the columns are properly excluded from the task and no longer cause an exception.
- Connections which have a missing Excel data source can now be repaired via the connection settings.
- Adding an in memory Feature-Class to the Table of Content in ArcGIS does not create an error message anymore.

- The GISconnector ribbon is being deactivated for worksheets which are not stored as xls, xlsx or xlsm format

GISconnector for Excel Version 1.2

- Support for ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3 has been added
- GISconnector for Excel now uses the licence level defined in the ArcGIS Administrator. This will not apply if you use the start parameter for the licence level.
Fixed bugs:
- A problem regarding the format test of specific Oracle fields in ArcGIS has been fixed. Support for Oracle SDE feature classes is therefore added.
- The usage of particular formulas in Excel no longer causes errors during several processes of the GISconnector.
- If the Excel table has only one row, the formulas will no longer be replaced by the name of the column when you transfer data from ArcGIS to Excel.
- Several problems with joined tables in ArcGIS for Desktop have been fixed.
- The usage of OneDrive documents in Excel no longer produces error messages from the GISconnector.
- Hidden rows at the end of Excel tables no longer will be ignored during data transfer (transfer all data) from Excel to ArcGIS.
- Starting a job while another job is running no longer results in a lock up of ArcGIS or Excel.
- Working with files stored in the root directory of a drive does not cause problems anymore.
- Exporting GIS tables into a new xlsm file will now work.

- New improved workflow for creating connections and exporting data. The main changes regarding this workflow are adjustments in the toolbar/ribbon layout, an overhaul of the export and connection wizard, the feature to connect tables using alpha numerical columns as link

- The lists of map documents and layers in Excel are now automatically refreshed if a layer is not found during the transfer of a selection or filter.
- If the name of a shapefile or dbf table is longer than 10 characters, the transfer of a selection or a filter no longer results in an error.
- The execution of GISconnector for Excel no longer results in an error if the program is already running under another user account on the same machine.
- The table in Excel is no longer moved after transferring data from ArcGIS to Excel (this only happend under certain circumstances).
- Columns formated as integer in Excel will no longer be converted to double fields in ArcGIS during export.
- Columns formated as fraction in Excel will no longer be converted to integer fields in ArcGIS during export.
