The two Add-Ins communicate with each other.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Questions about the test licence<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are there limitations to the test licence?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\">All functions are enabled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\">The test version can only be used for a limited time frame.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Questions about installation<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What components does GISconnector consist of?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">GISconnector consists of an add-in for ESRI\u2019s ArcGIS Desktop, a Microsoft Excel add-in and the Geolabs Administrator (licence management). All components are installed together in a single setup operation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do I need local administrator rights for the installation?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Yes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a id=\"requirements\"><\/a>What are the minimum system requirements?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">The latest GISconnector Version runs on:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit versions in each case)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 &#8211; 10.8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 (32-bit and 64-bit versions in each case)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 90px;\">We recommend installing the latest service pack for the operating system and for ArcGIS and Excel.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What languages are supported by GISconnector?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">GISconnector currently supports two languages: German and English.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If I install a newer version of ArcGIS Desktop (e.g. upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2), must GISconnector first be uninstalled?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">GISconnector installation differs from one ArcGIS Desktop version to another. GISconnector must therefore be re-installed following an ArcGIS version upgrade. It is not necessary to uninstall it first; this is carried out automatically.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Questions about licensing<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How does licensing work?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Licensing is linked to the hardware. The licence key can only be used for one computer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are concurrent use licences available?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Concurrent use licences will be available from version 2.0 on.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Technical questions<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What ArcGIS data formats are supported by GISconnector?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">GISconnector works with feature classes and standalone tables. All ArcGIS data formats are supported: shapefiles, personal and file geodatabases and enterprise geodatabases for the relevant ArcGIS Desktop versions.\u00a0From version 1.2 on the GISconnector for Excel does support the following SDE-Geodatabases: Oracle, SQL-Server, PostgreSQL.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is there a limit to the number of data records that can be processed?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">No. GISconnector is only limited by the system limits of the software components.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For <a href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/Excel-specifications-and-limits-1672b34d-7043-467e-8e27-269d656771c3?CorrelationId=6071d58f-4a92-49f5-b02a-9a3fb57783f7&amp;ocmsassetID=HP010073849&amp;omkt=en-US&amp;ui=en-US&amp;rs=en-US&amp;ad=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Excel<\/a><\/li>\n<li>For ArcGIS, the upper limits of the specific data format apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">e.g. file geodatabase: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/resources.arcgis.com\/en\/help\/main\/10.1\/018s\/018s00000002000000.htm\">https:\/\/resources.arcgis.com\/en\/help\/main\/10.1\/018s\/018s00000002000000.htm<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do I require an editing session to transfer changes from Excel to ArcGIS?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">No, all workflows can be carried out inside or outside an editing session. We recommend transferring the data without an editing session.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can I work with multiple Excel tables simultaneously?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Yes, with the GISconnector link manager, any number of Excel tables can be linked to feature classes.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Questions about maintenance<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is meant by maintenance?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Customers with a maintenance agreement:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>can contact our employees with any questions and problems (e-mail, telephone).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>automatically receive all new versions of GISconnector free of charge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>How long does the maintenance period last?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>By purchasing the software the customer profits from a year-long cost-free maintenance period. Subsequently the maintenance can be purchased against a yearly fee.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>How can I cancel my maintenance agreement?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">You can cancel an existing maintenance agreement no later than 3 months\u00a0before it is due to end.
